Feedback for Preliminary Video

Here are some feedback that was given to me after watching my preliminary video; most of the feedback includes improvements such as making sure that the dialogue is louder and clearer for the audience to hear and understand what is the topic of conversation. Some people didn't understand why the 'stalker' was following the main character, therefore in my next video for my main task i will try to include more dialogue so that the audience understands the storyline better. Other than this, the sound effects matched up well with the scenes and really represented the genre well, which was horror/thriller.

Finished Preliminary Video

Rule of Thirds

The Rule of Thirds is a concept in video and film in which the frame is divided into nine imaginary sections; this creates reference points which act as guides for framing the image. Points or lines of interest should occur at 1/3 or 2/3 of the way up or across the frame rather than in the centre. For example in a screenshot of my preliminary exercise, I have placed the character, behind the tree, 1/3 of the way in from the right and the other two characters are placed 1/3 of the way up the camera frame and not directly in the centre.

Here is another rule of thirds example of where I planned some practise shots/angles that i wanted to include in my preliminary video. This close up shot portrays that the character on the left (me) is the subject whereas the character in the background on the right has some kind of involvement in her future, hence his positioning on the right. By not placing the characters right in the centre, it foreshadows aspects of the past and the future, portraying deeper meaning of the scene.
